Children are the future of any nation but they have been the worst sufferers during the pandemic. It is very important to ensure their positive mental wellbeing in such trying circumstances. SIFFCY has been innovating its programs in all core areas to best serve the needs of the people, especially young people, keeping in mind the current challenges.
Considering the ongoing pandemic and related challenges, we at SIFFCY have adopted the new normal practice and have been hosting multiple online activities including screening, conferences, workshops, panels, master classes and related activities on a regular basis.
As physical events with big gathering or travel to various locations are not practically feasible during this global pandemic. However, We participated in more than 80 different international film festivals, forums, seminars and conferences in last 2 years that includes both virtual and physical events. The show must go on !..

SIFFCY (Smile International Film Festival for Children & Youth) is proud to be a part of the unique Global Online Campaign: ONE WORLD CHILDREN initiated by several like-minded children & youth film festivals. Associations, film makers & artists from across the world came together to engage, entertain, educate, encourage & empower the young minds globally, through various online Workshops, Master classes, Interactive sessions, Live-chats & Film screenings during the Global pandemic of Covid-10 when everyone was locked down inside homes for an uncertain period.
Twenty different experts from 15 different countries hosted 20 different online workshops & master classes in 2020. More than 1,00,000 young people participated in these activities all together.
INDEPENDENCE WEEK FEST: 15th August 2020
With an objective to engage & encourage young people across the country Smile Foundation & SIFFCY in collaboration with Picture Paathshala, hosted a free online Film Festival, during Indian Independence Day weekend from 14-16 August 2020. The festival attempts to break the monotony of Covid-19 lockdown for children confined at home and bring to them more meaningful visual content.
More than 1,00,000 global children & youth from various backgrounds, from across the globe participated in the 3 days virtual fest. The program was a mix of more than 50 different handpicked films made by children from all parts of the country on various topics relevant to the young audiences. Several Pep talks, filmmaking workshops & interactive panels were organised. The main objective of this festival was to encourage young storytellers showcase their talent through creative storytelling. In order to ensure that this festival is accessible by children from all backgrounds, Smile Foundation also enrolled its beneficiaries from the Mission Education programme to attend this online festival

SIFFCY (Smile international film festival for children & youth) is proud & privileged to collaborate with the prestigious ZLÍN FILM FESTIVAL, Czech Republic to bring a collection of brilliant Czech Animations for Indian children during the difficult times of pandemic. Handpicked films from the program of 61st Zlin Film Festival / 28th May to 1st June 2021 were showcased through a dedicated virtual platform. More than 10,000 young audiences from several Indian schools participated in the screening program. Shemrock School, Bharti Public School, D.A.V Police Public School, All Kerala Private School Association , All India Private Schools Association are few among others who partnered with the festival. This program was supported by the Embassy of The Czech Republic in New Delhi.
