Since January 2013 she has been the artistic director. She is focused on European cinema and is active in the field of educational programs for children and youth. She sits regularly in professional juries of similarly oriented festivals. She is a board member of the foundation FILMTALENT ZLÍN, which supports talented young filmmakers. Markéta Pášmová is the head film programme organizer of the festival, comprehensively covering its dramaturgical composition and line. She develops and maintains domestic and international relations in the realm of film professionals.

In 1996, Michael Harbauer initiated the SCHLiNGEL International Film Festival for Children and Young Audiences. What originally started as a film week with no more than twelve films is now one of the most comprehensive platforms for international and national children’s and youth film in Europe and
also worldwide. As director of the SCHLiNGEL Festival, Michael Harbauer also organizes support measures for the participation of German films in international film festivals, especially outside Europe, with the
SCHLiNGEL International program, as well as independent tours (e.g. Russia, China, Canada, Israel, Mexico, Uzbekistan, Vietnam) regularly in cooperation with the local Goethe-Institutes. In addition to directing the SCHLiNGEL film festival, Michael Harbauer is chairman of the non-profit association
Sächsischer Kinder- und Jugendfilmdienst e.V. (Saxon Children’s and Youth Film Service), which is committed to the theoretical and practical film education of children and young people. Successful international SCHLiNGEL films are integrated into this educational work. By distributing some of
these films, the association even paves their way to the big screen.
In addition, Michael Harbauer is and has been a film commissioner for the important regulatory institutions and advisory boards for film, cinema and television in Germany. Regular participation in international film festival juries and conferences (e.g. in Busan, Guangzhou, Montreal, Cairo, New
Delhi or Tokyo) also contributes to the intensive intercultural dialogue. Since the end of November 2020 Michael Harbauer is a member of the Board of Directors of CIFEJ (International Centre of Films for Children and Young People).

Jo-Anne Blouin has worked in the arts with and on behalf of children for all of her professional career. At the age of 16, in her native Quebec, she began working in theatre for children, and embarked in the heady world of creating collective works for children’s theatre. From theatre, she moved to film for children and created the Montreal International Children’s Film Festival, better known under its French acronym FIFEM. She still acts as CEO and artistic director of the festival that will hold its 25th edition in March 2022.
From 1998 to 2008, she was CIFEJ’s Executive director, where she created the Kids For Kids Festival. She is very familiar with those who produce for children and the wide range of their work. She programs her festival and attends several other international events each year. She believes children should have access to films from many cultures. ‘If we can give children a taste for different films, they will develop a critical capacity. And as adults they will want access to films from all over the world’. In 2017, she was nominated Honorary Member of the European Children Film Association (ECFA), and in 2018 received an Honorary Award from Schlingel festival (Germany).

Mariella Harpelunde Jensen is an autodidact director, scriptwriter, and author from Denmark. She has directed and scripted several TV-series, documentaries, and short films. Mariella is especially known for her work on Nordic TV series and programs for children, including series and films for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation’s channels Ramasjang and Ultra. She has created TV-shows as ‘Barda’, ‘Dansk hulebyg’, and ‘Isas stepz’. Mariella has also written the children’s book: ‘Hulebyggerne’. Today, she works as the head of program at the Danish children’s film festival ‘Buster’.

Christine L. Mendoza has over two decades of experience in Education and Film. While still a teenager in New York City, Christine produced two award-winning films with the Educational Video Center. Since then, she has published multiple articles and book chapters in her field and has worked teaching film at local institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art, The Educational Video Center, NYU and Columbia University. She has also worked internationally using film as an educational tool in Finland, India, Iran, Northern Ireland, South Africa, Spain, Bolivia and Peru. Christine is devoted to her community and has worked with multiple social justice organizations including The Northern Manhattan Coalition for Immigrant Rights, working on civics campaigns for and with latinos to become U.S. Citizens, understand the dynamics of Domestic Violence and Smoking Cessation initiatives. Christine L. Mendoza received her Masters Degree from the Comparative Ethnic Conflict Program at Queens University in Belfast and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Media Studies from Hunter College in NYC. She is currently authoring her first book on “Growing up in Youth Media”, is on the Board of Directors of the International Center of Films for Children and Young People, the Educational Video Center and is a Contemporary Collectors Committee Member for the Museo de Barrio in Harlem, New York. Jaroslav Hynštová was born in 1977. She studied at the Palacky University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, major Film studies and English philology. As a Zlín Film Festival representative she participated in the juries all around the world (e.g. South Korea, Estonia, Sweden, France, Germany, Poland, Russia, India, Japan). She also works as a lecturer during Zlín Film Festival summer camps (screenwriting, guidance of TV studio making). She was also a regional cultural correspondent for the biggest Czech newspape. She translated films for Zlín Film Festival and worked as a guest manager for the small film festival Eurofilm in the spa town Luhačovice. She is a founder of an amateur theatre group in her home town Luhačovice, she is the screenwriter and director of more than 10 comedy plays based on different film genres.
